Our aim is to love people addicted to substance, back to wholeness.

New Havens started with Support Groups in September 2006 after Mariette and her mom felt the need to “do something about the drug-addiction problem that steals the lives of our youth”.

On 19-07-2007 New Havens was registered as a NPO.

Main activities

  • Giving them a sense of hope so that they can have a better life, sometimes out of a dire situation, living on the streets
  • Motivating them to attend a rehabilitation program
  • Assisting them with items such as toiletries, clothing, bedding, snacks, transportation to be admitted to rehabilitation centres
  • Arranging for childcare while they are attending in-patient rehabilitation
  • Supporting them with visitation and snacks while in treatment
  • Assisting them to re-integrate back into society with accommodation, life skills, Job/Admininistration/PC skills training, job hunting, CVs etc.
  • Support group/fellowship on Fridays to nurture a Christ-centred identity
  • Supporting the children-of-addicts to prevent them from going down the same road
